Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist Empty Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist

Nick is the bass god of one of the underground queercore band in Manhattan. Recent dumpie had one gig in a bar where he spots his Ex, Tris. So Mr. Bass God ask the girl in the flannel shirt next to him to be his 5 minute girlfriend. Fortunately, she's furious at Nick's Ex. In order to make Tris jealous, she launched in for a serious make out.

The kiss changed everything. How Nick diverts his perceptions of getting over Tris down the drain. How Norah, the 5 minute girlfriend, could be like her "oh-so-perfect-kinda-like-sister" Caroline. How the two of them could get over their Exes. How two queer individuals could get together in such an imperfect night.

Surely, one night isn't enough to fall head over heals for one another. They still doubt themselves of what the future can behold for them, if ever they continue.

As the night continues, the playlist keeps on playing. Lovesick melodies as they both called it.

Downside of this novel? The profanities written with it. I can't count how much fucks they have written. When I drop down the book to take a rest, the word F*** keeps on playing inside my head. If you're a staight-edge one... then this book might tip you off. Another con of this book is that it promotes homosexual relationships. Man, boys kiss boys/girls kiss girls. I actually skip those part because I can't even imagine them. Is America into homosexuality nowadays?

Favorite parts of the book. I'll be quoting one:

The way you're singing in your sleep
The way you look before you leap
The strange illusions that you keep
You don't know
But I'm noticing

The way your touch turns into arcs
The way you slide into the dark
The beating of my open heart
You don't know
But I'm noticing

The book is very interesting. It deals with an not-so-average American Teens Life. Nick actually embodies my Dream Guy. I like someone who's into music as I am, writes me songs and poetries, and simple. Nick is a nice dude (that's what I got from the definition given in the book). I think Norah will be perfect for him.

Ooh, definitely doesn't sound like those typical teen-falls-in-love books. Apart from the profanity you've mentioned, I think it's worth a shot Smile

The authors are Rachel Cohn and David Levithan, yes? I'm going to try and look for the book. Smile

And hmm, looks like they're turning it into a movie! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0981227/

I've been wanting to read it! Who's it by?
But then I read your straight-edge comment, and I'm kind of not going to anymore, LOL.
Well, maybe I can deal with profanity.. Actually, when I watched 'The Departed', there were so many FUCKs I wanted to throw the remote at the TV. Ugh, so annoying.
