“Tom’s interest in music began when he started composing for his GCSE music exam. He did a lot of the cabaret with us-rock ‘n’ roll, all sorts… We had a choir at the Royal Albert Hall presenting opera, and Tom did everything. He had a great voice, too, and he was a very good actor and a good dancer. But he was occasionally naughty, skiving off lessons he didn’t want to go to. The lessons he skived varied according to his mood!”
