The Worst (this might suck) xD

*okay, I couldn`t think of any good title.

TITLE: The Worst

SUMMARY: *I’m still finding the right words for this part

CHAPTER 1

It’s 7:30 in the morning and guess what?
It’s my first day of being a junior in Dentville High.
I always believed that first day’s always the worst. The least expectations are usually the ones that actually happen. I know.. one more and I’m off to college. That might be the worst of all the worst.

“Rise and shine, sis! It’s the first day of school!” my little bro, Seth, reminded me.

“Aw, geez. Do you have to remind me that? That’s what I’ve been thinking of ever since last night.. When’s your first day gonna start anyways?” I rubbed my face.

“Next week.” He gave me an annoying smug.

“Ugh. Whatevs. I have to go get ready for school. Get out of my room, kid-o.” I said stiffly.

“Fine. I made you breakfast, by the way. Nanny was tired from last night.. you know how crocheting gets on her way of doing stuff.” He added.

“Give the old lady a break. Now, get out.” I pointed the door.

I watched him swiftly go out of my messy room. School will always be a good excuse of not cleaning. So, I got up and set things as I left my room as it is.

“What, you’re like a cook now?” I asked as soon as I saw the food served on the dining table.

“I know right! It looks awesome. Maybe I should take culinary and…” he tried to explain.

“Hold that thought.” I gave him the talk-to-the-hand gesture and checked the wall clock. “Oh darn! I’m gonna be late if I eat breakfast. Maybe I’ll taste your ‘food’ when I get home.”

“Aw, shux. Fine. I’ll eat this all up myself.” He folded his arms.

“Better.” I went towards the door. “Adios, hermano.”

“Adios, hermana molesta!” he stuck out his tongue and waved.

I must say. That was a pretty good excuse for not tasting my bro’s food. I never actually knew he liked cooking. The one served on the dining table might be his first.. experiment. Before I try to kill myself by actually eating the ‘thing’.. I’d rather not taste it. Oh, and I’m not late for my first day. My first class starts at 9 o’clock and it’s just 8:15.



CHAPTER 2

Ah, first day. I heard there are alot who transferred to another school. I couldn’t see why they had to, Dentville High looked so perfect and.. educational.

I could already see my schoolmates, smiling and welcoming everyone back. I was making my way to the hallway when someone bumped me like he did that intentionally.

“Hey! Watch it!” I said angrily.

“Crap. Sorry, I didn’t mean to.. bump you.” He bowed his head.

Okay, Kirby.. calm down. I knew this would happen. But it’s the first day. I better act friendly.

“Oh. It’s fine, you know. I was just acting stupid.” I tried to explain.

He smiled at me, “It was my fault. I’m sorry. I was just looking for Room 304.. do you know where it is?”

“Oh. Newbie? It’s right there. Second door on the left. 304, right?” I repeated.

“Yes, thanks and yes.. Oh, my name’s Tom, by the way.” He took out his hand and waited for mine to hold his so we could shake hands.

“Tom..?” I asked. I took my hand out and caught his hand.

“Fletcher. Thomas Fletcher. But you can call me Tom. And you are..?” he raised both his brows.

“Oh. I’m Kirby Gustavo. Nice to meet you, Tom.” I smiled.

He smiled back at me and I seriously felt the numbness after seeing his dimple. It stood out without much effort and it was only one in number. How unique. I rarely see guys who have dimples.. Oh, wait.. Dimple. Singular.

“Well, Kirby,” he smiled again, “Do you mind if I ask what’s your first class?”

“Español.” I said with enthusiasm.

“Oh cool. Well, mine’s Music.”

“I like music.” I added.

“Me, too. I love them, actually. I write songs. Though, I haven’t had anyone listen to it.” He explained.

“Really? Well, I wanna listen to it. Promise you’ll let me hear after class?”

He nodded twice, “Sure, sure.”

I’m pretty sure the bell rang 2 minutes ago. And we’re kinda late for our first class. Funny how we didn’t mind the bell. I guess we got too busy chatting.

“Oh geez. I think we’re 2 minutes late for class. Guess I’ll see you later?” I waved and hurried to Room 310.

“Yeah. See ya later, Kirby!” he waved back and went straight towards Room 304.

CHAPTER 3

Just when I was about to open the room.. someone from the back hissed at me.

“Oh, would you puh-lease open the door already?! We’re kinda late!”

I looked behind and saw Dougie, “Doug!”

“Shiz! Kirby! I thought you were someone else!” he said out loud.

“Dougie! I’ve missed you. What’s up?!” I hugged him tight.

“Well, not much. You’ve grown much. Your height?” he asked, excited.

“I checked out last night.. I think I’m already 5”7!”

“Suh-weet!” he grinned.

Someone from the room opened the door and found me and Dougie. Turned out that Mrs. Donita heard us from inside.

“Señor Douglas Poynter!” she shouted along with that annoying Spanish accent.

“Why me? Kirby’s here as well!” he pointed at me.

“Thanks, Doug…” I muttered.

“No prob, buddy.” He grinned.

“Apresurarte y conseguir adentro! Eres clases del corte ya!” she exclaimed.

“Si, señora Donita.” Dougie and I said at the same time.

As we went inside.. all of our classmates stopped talking. What? We’re not new students. We’re just late. I saw Harry seated on the back. He waved happily at the two of us.

“Tener un asiento, Douglas y Kirby.” Señora Donita commanded.

We hurried to get the last two seats at the back of the room and heard Mrs. Donita continue her discussion translated in Spanish ‘cause I could see that she was having a hard time discussing in English. Well, at least we could understand what she was saying even if it was like an out-of-the-world language. Wonder why we still needed to attend Spanish class.

“Kirby!” Harry whispered loudly.

“Don’t worry, Juddster. I can hear you loud and clear.” I cleared.

“Judd, my man! What is up with the y-o-u?!” Dougie and Harry made a knuckle-fist bump or whatev you call it.

“Same old, same old.. man, lookie now, we’re juniors!” he announced.

Mrs. Donita wasn’t deaf, you know. She heard Harry loud and clear.

“Señor Harry Judd! Realizas que estoy discutiendo algo en frente?” she explained, turning red.

“What’s ‘sorry’ again in Spanish?” he whispered to Dougie.

“Apesadumbrada~!” he whispered back like he was singing.

Harry stood up and looked straight to the teacher, “Ap..sa..num..bured-a!?”

“Goodness.” He covered his face, feeling embarrassed for Harry.

“Pardon me?” she said, confused.

“I think he was trying to say sorry, señora Donita.” I stood up for Harry ‘cause he looked lost.

“Muy bien. Puedes ahora ser asentado.” She replied calmly.

I sat down right after she finished her sentence. I stared at Harry..

“What?” he asked me with a big question mark.

“Harry, she just said sit down. You’re not in trouble, don’t worry.” I giggled.

“Very nice, Judds. You did it again.” Dougie interrupted.

“Oh. Crap. I.. knew that. I just didn’t hear her.” He tried to make an excuse pretending he understood what señora said.

“Don’t act stupid, Harry. It’s obvious that you didn’t understand the woman.” Dougie insulted.

“I did! Don’t make me strangle you right now.. you..” he roared lightly.

“Harry, shush! Just sit down already. First day’s always the worst, you know.” I reminded him.

First day’s always the worst. Yeah, I didn’t mention that that phrase doesn’t only apply to me. But to my two best buds in school as well. I almost forgot that I met someone new today..

Tom Fletcher. I wonder what he’s doing at music class right now. He promised to play one of his songs to me after class. I hope he didn’t forget that.

“Kirbs. Whatcha thinkin’ of? The bell rang a minute ago.” Harry snapped the heck outta me.

“Recess already?” I asked, surprised.

“Yeah-uh. We’re gonna have that buffet again on table 16. I bet the new cafeteria guy’s got good food this time. I heard he was once a chef at a resto.” Dougie explained.

I stood up and got out of the room. I went to my locker.. Locker B13. My last locker was colored red, now it’s green.. saying that the ones owning green lockers are juniors.

“Oh. Our lockers’ beside each other. How cool.” I heard someone from behind.

“Oh, Tom! This is you locker?” I pointed Locker B14.

“Yes, ma’am. See for yourself.” He held out a piece of paper which has the “Locker B14” written on it.

“Cool.” my stomach growled, “Gosh. Let’s eat. I’m hungry..”

CHAPTER 4

Dougie and Harry were in line with the other students who were as excited as the two were. But guess what? The cafeteria guy didn’t know what to cook yet so they had to wait ‘til he has finally come up with one. I was with Tom seated on Table 16. I find it cute when were seated at one table. But he was looking away, prolly at someone.

“Hey, Kirby. Guess what?” he finally faced me.

“Oh, no! What?” I joked.

“I saw this girl at Music class earlier. I think her name’s Giovanna. Do you know her?”

“Oh. I think I do.. why? What’s with her?” I asked, giving him a strange look.

“I find her.. cute. You know. Maybe you could help me.” He sure was asking for a favor.

Oh. My. Gosh. I turned speechless just when I heard him say it.
Giovanna? He’s like my most hated person in this entire galaxy. She never became my friend ‘cause we haven’t actually met. We just know each other by name. And how unlucky could I get?!

“Oh.” It was the only thing I could manage to spit out.

“What’s wrong?”

Dougie and Harry came. Okay, I’m glad they did. Thanks, best buds, you saved me again. They were kinda pissed off because the foods haven’t been served yet.

“Man, that guy needs a time out! I’m seriously hungry right now.” Dougie complained.

“Kirbs, I thought you were hungry as well?” Harry asked me.

“Oh. I just suddenly lost my appetite.”

True. I didn’t need to hear what Tom said about Giovanna. Turned out that I lose again. It sucks to know that the cute, one-dimpled newbie liked the person I hate.

“Dude. You’ve been checkin’ out that girl all recess time.” Harry told Tom, pointing at Giovanna.

“Oh. Yeah, I forgot to introduce him to you guys,” I got guilty, “Doug, Harry this is Tom Fletcher. I met him earlier this morning just before we met at the door, Doug.”

“Hey, Tom. I’m Dougie!” shakes Tom’s hand.

“..yeah, and I’m Harry Judd. Call me Harry.. for it is my name.” he took Tom’s other hand and shook it.

“Nice to meet you two.” He faced away again, looking at Giovanna. She looked back as if the girls she was with told her that Tom was staring at her. And she smiled at him. I can see Tom smiling back.. giving her the dimple. I was completely jealous.

“Shiz.” I muttered to Dougie.

CHAPTER 5? I'm not done yet.

it's doesn't suck at all....LOL...i don't do drafts in my fics...i type things in my fic here on whatever goes into my head...LOL...so if you're not done with chapter 5 and still getting ready....it's ok.....i'm the one that do things rushly...lol...i type things ahead...

CHAPTER 5

It was already dismissal and the first person I looked for was Tom. We have something to do.. or rather he needs to do something that he promised he would do. It felt like we’re already close after hearing a lot about him early recess time. I honestly admit, I was trying to forget about the ‘eye-to-eye’ contact he had with Giovanna. But I guess all I had to do now is look for him..

I approached Dougie immediately, “Hey! Doug, have you seen Tom?”

“Umm. I think he left already.. with that girl he kept on eyeing at.” he had shifty eyes.

For the love of.. shiz. This will probably stand as my worst time of the day. I bit my lip so I wouldn’t burst out and shout anything unusual. Dougie was staring at me.

“Kirbs. Calm down. I totally get you. They’re probably not together that quick.” He tried to comfort me.

“Thanks, Doug. But I think they will soon.” I sighed.

“I never thought ‘Love at first sight’ would really work.” He scratched his head.

I never thought of it as well. That may sound stupid but it looked real. I was supposed to be Tom’s princess! I was the first one to meet him. First come, first serve.

“First come. First serve..” I said without minding.

“What? Hold it, Kirbs. Go easy on the newbie.” Still trying to calm me down.

“I’m not mad at Tom..” I said, grinning.

“Oh, for a second there I thought you were planning to torture the guy.” He made a smug.

“I’m mad at.. Giovanna!!!” I shouted angrily.

Dougie looked terrified of me. He couldn’t calm me down by himself. I’m completely sure he needed someone to back him up.. and Harry is the perfect guy.

“Hey! Kirbs! What the heck is goin on here?!” he ran towards us.

“Judds! Calm her down! I think she’s powering up!” Dougie said nervously.

“Powering up for what, Doug?! Kirbs?!” he grabbed both my shoulders, shook it and faced me, “What happened to you!?”

“I..need..water.” I calmed down.

“What?! That was it?! All for a dose of H2O?!” he sounded frustrated with me.

“No. Judds! I’ll explain everything to you later. Just get her some H2O.” Dougie cleared.

“You two are crazy like geeks. I’ll be back. You get her outside and let her take-in fresh air.” Harry suggested.

“You heard that Kirbs? Let’s go outside now.. don’t scream or anything ‘cause you know what happens if you do..” he made sure that I ain’t going to burst out like I just did.

Dougie was always there for me. Like a true brother. And I couldn’t imagine life without him. That goes for Harry as well. The two plus my little bro, Seth, usually stays at home every weekend playing PS2 all-day.

My mom’s actually out.. she’s at Europe doing a ‘business trip’. She calls at early Sundays just to check if we’re still alive. Well, I’m glad we still are. And my dad? I haven’t actually met him ever since I was brought out to this world. I think he left mom when he knew she was pregnant. I feel sorry for mom and to my little bro. But then again, me and Seth couldn’t get happier today. Everything’s running pretty smooth.

Doug and Harry drove me home right after I drank my H2O. Weird.
I saw my little brother at the kitchen.. he was again, cooking. Well, maybe I should give the guy a chance. I’d eat tonight since I haven’t eaten anything yet. Dang. I just remembered Giovanna.

Get out of my head! Get out!

“Yo, sis! You’re back. How was first day?” he asked while he was holding a pan that contained fish.

“Never better. What’s for dinner?” I changed the topic.

“I made this one. I’m sure you’ll dig this! It’s tuna with spices and stuff.” He went back to the stove and continued on with his thing.

“That better taste great. Or else I’ll pluck all of those nose hairs I can see from here.” I scared him.

“Eeek! Nose hair coming out!” he freaked out.

“Where’s nanny, by the way?” I jumped on the comfy couch.

“She’s upstairs.. doing crochet again.”

“Okay. I’m starting to get annoyed with that hobby old people do..” I bit my lip.

“Give the old lady a break..” he mocked me.

Geez... love at first sight... poor Kirbs... good thing dougie's there XD

CHAPTER 6

It was Friday night when my little bro reminded me that he’s going to throw a little party at our living room.

“Kirby, I told you about tonight’s activity, right?”

“What?” my face turned neutral.

“My friends and I are going to have a little gaming time here, tonight. I told you about it yesterday when we were having dinner, remember?” he grinned.

“I guess your tuna stunned me too much. Who are these friends of yours? Drei, Paul, and George?” It felt weird for like remembering the kids’ names. They haven’t been here for quite a while now.

“Add Alex and Candy.” He added.

“Candy? Isn’t that a girl’s name? Unless.. you know.. he’s-”

“She’s a girl, Kirby. She insisted on joining. Besides, she’s cool.” She cleared it for me.

“But won’t she get out of place ‘cause all of you are like.. boys? And don’t girls your age are strictly being caged at home Friday night?” I’m pretty sure he giggled at my questions.

“She’ll have some.. chaperon or something. She’ll be 100% safe here.” He cleared another for me again.

I cleared my throat, “Well, I’ll just cook dinner for you guys.. I mean.. kids, since you’re gonna be busy playing video games.”

“Aw, thanks, sis.” He grinned.

I sounded like a mother to Seth with that conversation we had. I sorta made a warm smile when I watched him go upstairs and prolly change his clothes. I can’t believe Seth’s fifteen already. He grew up so fast than I did. The one year age gap didn’t actually mind to me, he still treats me perfectly. The doorbell suddenly rang.

“Sis! Could you get the door for me.. I’m changing clothes right now.” He said from upstairs.

I went towards the door and saw a guy.. probably same age as mine. I opened the door..

“Hi. What can I do for you?” I asked the guy. But then I saw a girl behind him.. I’m sure that was Candy, “Oh… Seth! I think Candy’s here!”

Seth swiftly went down the stairs and welcomed Candy in. They looked like a couple.. and whoa. Little bro has someone special?

“Umm.. do you mind if I come in?” the guy whom Candy was with asked.

“Oh. Yeah, sure. Make yourself at home.” I cleared the entrance so he could go in.

“..cool house, Seth.” Candy said with a huge smile. She looked so cute.

“Thanks. And oh.. Candy, this is my sister, Kirby. And there’s an old lady upstairs doing some crochet.. she’s our nanny.” He added.

“Oh. Nice to meet you, Kirby.. well, umm, this is my bro, Danny.” She introduced him to me.

Danny… cute name. And eyes. L-O-L. Jackpot! He looks nice and protective of his little sis.

“Hi, Kirby. Yeah, I’m Danny.. I’m Candy’s brother.” He waved shyly.

I waved back and didn’t say anything since my little bro already said who I was..
I began to blush all of a sudden and realized I was already staring at Candy’s brother.
Oh, and Tom who? I’ve got a substitute already. L-O-L. Tom and Giovanna can have each other. I can have.. this.

“Anyways, sis, we’ll go set-up the PS2. What will you two do? I guess you have company after all.”

“Maybe.. we could do dinner. Is it okay?” I turned to face Danny.

“S’okay. I can keep up with that, I guess.” He smiled and I almost melted seeing those straight and sparkly teeth along with such a unique accent.

I led the way to the kitchen and tried not to face the guy, since it was our first time to see each other. I couldn’t find the right words to say ‘cause I was too stunned. We’re making dinner.. together.
Oh, wait. What if Danny already has someone? I should ask.. I opened my mouth and..

“So, what school do you go to?” he suddenly asked just when I was about to ask something.

“Dentville High..” I made a smile that sorta looked fake.

“Oh.” Oh? That was the only thing he replied?

Kirby, snap out of it! Say something before he thinks of getting outta this house.

“Do you like cheese?” crap. I knew I’d say something stupid.

“I love cheese. What do you plan on making?” he smiled at me.

I seriously had an idea. I hurried to the cabinet which contained lots of boxes and grabbed one. Danny was observing the refrigerator. I held out the one I grabbed from the cabinet and gave it to Danny. He shook the box..

“Perfect. Let’s get this game on.” He smiled.

I gave out my sweetest smile and nodded my head slowly.
Smart of me..

"Do you like cheese?"
