Here goes my friend saying the homework is due on Monday. I wanted to get it printed earlier....buuuuuuut I'm not in the mood so I'mma go and work on that add. hahaha

CHAPTER 14

"Ari!" Dougie's voice came from the far end of the hall. My face automatically scrunched up and I looked at Max helplessly.

I told her about what I saw at the food court that Saturday and how Dougie didn't admit it.

She placed her hand on my arm sympathetically before stepping in front of me with an angry face.
"Out of the way, Poynter. She doesn't want to talk to you."
"Max, please. You haven't heard my side yet." He pleaded. "Ari...." He looked at me.

I suck so bad. My heart began softening up.

"Look, maybe next time. Just not now." Max pushed him away slightly.
"Please, Ari. Give me a chance to explain."

People began crowding around us. They looked on curiously; trying to figure out what we were arguing about.
My cheeks heated up with the attention.

"Dude, move your arse. I said you can try to talk to her next-"
"Max." I touched her shoulder. "He's right. Mayve I do need to hear him out."
She looked at me with an 'that's a bad idea' look on her face.
"Don't worry. It'll only take a minute." I assured her before turning to Dougie. "Doug?"
He led me out of the building and away from the nosy students.
"Go on. Let's hear it." I prodded. This time, more civilized than the last time.
"Where do I start?" He looked at me expectantly.
"Start with 'who was he girl' and tell me your intentions." I ordered sternly.
"You were right." He sighed. "I was with Angela."

The moment her name left his lips, my heart sank. At that moment, I wanted to hit him and bash her face. But I knew I wasn't that kind of person so instead, I swallowed the lump in my throat and waited for him to continue.

"Why I was with her, I don't know."
"That's bull*shit." I muttered.
"I know it is. I'm sorry and I hope you can forgive me."
I looked at him; studying his face and if he meant the apology.
"You know...it hurt so much when you didn't admit that you were with her. It hurt so much that you lied to me." I paused thoughtfully. "But you know, somehow, you admitting it now is better late than never."
A small smile spread across his face.
"That doesn't mean i forgive you already though." I added.
"What do I have to do to make you forgive me? I'm willing to do anything."

What he needed to do? Just be there with me. Let me feel loved. Show me he cares. It's that simple really.

"You'll figure it out." I turned towards my friend who, I swear, had been eavesdropping on us the whole time.
"Come on, Max. We'll be late for class."

I walked away with a smile. Little does Poynter know, I've forgiven him already.

CHAPTER 15

"I'll see you later?" I looked at Max.
"Where are you going?"
"Skipping lunch." I adjusted the strap of my bag on my shoulder. "Have a good break."

I walked to the classroom. As usual, it was open and empty.
It was perfect.
I needed some time to think and it was the only place in school that I knew I was safe to be in.

I pulled out my iPod and lay flat on my back on the center of the room. Yes, it might've been dirty, but I had an urge to do so.

I closed my eyes and let my mind take me to another world. The slow hum of music calmed me.

Moments later, I heard the door open and close quietly. I didn't move or look. I didn't need to.
I knew exactly who it was.

Dougie sat cross-legged beside me on the floor.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
"Thinking." I replied; opening my eyes.
"About what?"
"I don't know."
"Hmmm. Amazing." He said mockingly.
"Fu*ck off." I sat up and turned my back on him.
"Hey." Heplaced his hand on my shoulder. "I was just kidding."
I nodded and faced him with a smile.
He shuffled closer.
"How's it been, Doug?"
"Hectic? Crazy?" He suggested.
"Yeah." I rested my head on his shoulder. "We haven't been here in a while, have we?"
"Nope." He wrapped an arm around me.

We stayed in the room talking and catching up on each other. It hasn't been that long, but it felt like we've been separated for a long time.

It was one of those little moments when everything seemed soperfect and you wished you had a pause buttonto hit so that both of you could lay there in time. That moment waswonderful.

Sadly, we got interrupted by the school bell which signalled the end of lunch. Dougie helped me up to my feet and we got ready to jump in the stream of students making their way to their respective classrooms.

Before we stepped out, Dougie kissed me on the lips for a briefmoment and enclosedme in a comforting hug. He took my hands in his and gave them a reassuring squeeze.

"Ready?" He looked down at me.
"Yeah." I took a deep breath. "One question."
"Shoot." He said.
"What happened in here........will it happen again?"
He searched my eyes carefully before saying softly, "I don't know. Hopefully."
I glanced at the floor, then backat him. "Yes, hopefully."
We stood still; me not wanting to move.
"I'm sorry. Let's go."
He let go of my hands and opened the door for me. "Afteryou."
"I'll see you soon, Doug." I said before walking out to the hall on my own.
The scandal hasn't died down yet and we both knew wedidn't want to add fuel to the fire.

"Did you really skip lunch?" Max asked me curiously.
"Yeah. I'm so bloody hungry." I wasn't kidding at all.
"You're gonna loveme then." She pulled out a bar of Mars chocolate.
"Oh gosh! Thank you!" I grabbedit outof her hands and stuffedmy face with chocolate. She started cracking up while shelooked at me.
"What?" I demended; mouth still half-full.
"You look like you haven't eateninmonths and gosh! No guy would ever find that cute!"
"Too bad no guy will see nor care!" I nudged herplayfully and finished off the chocolate.
"I beg to differ." A male voice said.
"Oh no." I wipedmy face clean and looked at the direction where the voice came.
"Too late. I saw you already." He wore a smug look.
My face started colouring and Ilooked downon the ground.
"Don't worry. I think it looke rather cute."
